The original file was about 3 hours long, i just cut a cool piece out and uploaded it :: gear: one røde nt-1a (right channel) and one shure 8700 (left channel; eq-based hiss reduction) :: setup: both microphones were mounted next to each other with an offset of about 2. 5 meters :: the preamp for the nt1-a was the on-board preamp of the yamaha mg16/4 mixing console. Ambience noisy crowd in large terminal room at the airport,5. 1 sound.

A very clean recording (no recognizable voices) of the moment a 737 comes in for a landing at raleigh-durham international airport (rdu). You will hear the sound in flight, the landing gear go down, touchdown, and the airplane begin to taxi back to the terminal. At the very moment the flight attendant keys her microphone, i cut the recording. This keeps you legally safe to use this file. Note: touchdown is at about 55 seconds in. . . Enjoy!. - christopher c. This is a very clean recording (no voices or words that can be made out) of a 737 in flight from inside the passenger cabin. We were seated directly behind the wing. It's just a great recording of what the sound level actually is inside a 737 at altitude. It's a surprisingly low rumble and a true white noise. Enjoy!. - christopher c. Courter.

This is a long recording taken in the backyard of my neighborhood on july 4, 2021. There are lots of distant (and a few closer) booms and explosion sounds. Kind of sounds like a war going on! in this longer recording a plane also flies overhead, and someone drives down the street.

This was recorded on july 4th, 2013 in enumclaw, wa. I was not expecting the bomber to fly over and it was a tribute to one of the last surviving members (edward saylor) of the doolittle raid on tokyo on april 18th, 1942. He was in the parade too. I can just imagine the sound of hundreds flying over in ww2. There is a bit of distortion as the plane flew directly overhead. Please comment on what you will use it for. :^).

A stereo recording of a weekday afternoon at melbourne general cemetery (victoria, australia), in the suburb of carlton north or princes hill. There are some birds, a plane flying overhead. It was recorded using a sony pcm-d50's built-in stereo microphones and has had light noise reduction applied (de-wind, rx8). This recording was taken in august 2021 on unceded wurundjeri land, which belongs to the woi wurrung people of the eastern kulin nations. I acknowledge their sovereignty and pay my respects to their elders and all first nations people.

I went out to the lake to record some ducks. This day they weren’t squawking as much as i’d hoped, but the wind was calmer than it normally is, and the wind really is your biggest enemy when making outdoor recordings like these. But overall, the recording isn’t bad. The ducks are smallish black ones with white beaks called the american coot. Lots of tweeting birds in there too, especially the first half, and i think those are just the normal small sparrows that you see everywhere. Couple people chatting, but they’re way in the distance. If you stand just underneath a commercial airplane as it's coming in to land (as was the case here at dfw airport) and so long as there's not a lot of noise around you (like loud traffic, etc. ) then when the jet passes overhead, what you can't see is that at the tips of the wings are rapidly spinning vortices of air that coil off the wingtips as the plane passes through air. These long, coiling spirals of air will eventually "close" and as that happens, it creates a momentary but bizarre, surreal sound that you really need to hear for yourself in person to get the full effect. This was the best i could capture on august 15th, 2022. Enjoy!.
